Reflection

Standard III talks about the teacher being able to help others understand and use digital tools for various reasons.  It is important to be able to take what you already know and be able to apply it to new and different situations. The artifacts below are a reflection of just a few ways I've taken what I learned and used it to help myself and others.

Strayer Video.  In one of my classes years ago, we studied how to shoot videos using different camera angles and movements.  When I worked for Strayer University, that knowledge came in handy.  There was a video competition and the campus I worked for decided to enter.  I shot, narrated, and edited the video for our campus.  I think I remember us coming in 6th out of 90.

Apple Collaboration.  My Apple cohort was fantastic.  They came with a wealth of knowledge and suggestions galore on different products.  Whenever I need a new product, I call on one of them.  I don’t have to worry about the product being a dud, because normally it’s already been tried by at least two different people in two extremely different situations.

Diigo.  I used Diigo years ago, but using it this summer was interesting.  A number of things have changed, but it is still easy to use and a great way to keep up with various information resources.  I shared my information with group members, but I could just as easily share information with teachers or students.

Future Learning Goal

In the future, I'd like to learn to produce more videos of a better quality.  I would also like to be a greater resource to the people around me.  I feel like I have knowledge to give, but I also miss the opportunity to share with others.  So I would like to be more open to helping others.
