Expectations
Over time, I've learned to keep my expectations realistic. It's not a negative thing. It's simply a real thing. I work a full time job, as do most people. I have two classes, including this one. I have comps and an ePortfolio due within the next month. I go to church and some days I even have a semblance of a social life. If I make it to the end of this course alive, I'll be grateful.
All jokes aside, I do have expectations from this course as well as any other course I take. I expect to grow and be changed. I expect to be able to reach my professors and receive responses in a timely manner. (Thanks Dr. Hartsell). I expect to hone my evaluation skills and be able to better teach my students to stop using garbage sites for real research. I expect to learn about new and improved resources that I can share with my teachers and students. Most of all, I expect to be one step closer to becoming a spectacular resource designer/librarian extraordinaire. Wait! I'm already a librarian, so I think I'm on my way to that last part.
Here's what I don't expect. I do not expect to learn everything I'll ever need to know related to website development. I don't expect to always get it right. (Who knows? I could be getting this all wrong right now.) However, I expect to gain valuable knowledge and experiences related to the fundamentals of designing websites.
